International Geological Congress - Al Gore ridiculed

The international geological congress (referred to by scientists as the geology olympic games) recently held in Oslo, Norway featured the opinions and viewpoints of many scientists openly skeptical of the “man made global warming consensus“. The conference, held from the 4th to the 14th of August, was criticized by the activists at RealClimate.org, apparently for being too balanced and allowing scientists opposed to current global warming views to have a forum!

“I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists,” Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia of the Center of Advanced Study in Geology at Punjab University. Other dissenters of Gore and the UN IPCC’s climate claims are Dr. Henrik Svensmark of the Danish National Space Centre and Paleoclimate scientist Dr. Bob Carter of Australia’s James Cook University, former chairman of the earth science panel of the Australian Research Council, Professor Dr. Nils-Axel Morner, a leading world authority on sea levels and coastal erosion who headed the Department of Paleogeophysics & Geodynamics at Stockholm University.

The whole energy conservation movement has no doubt had some credibility damage, caused, in part, by the UN failing to have a free and open debate listening to views from all scientists rather than just those who support the IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) claims. Over 400 Prominent Scientists (now almost 500) Disputed Man-Made Global Warming Claims in 2007. Russian scientists have openly rejected the very idea that carbon dioxide may be responsible for global warming and in fact Russian geographer Andrei Kapitsa says that “It is global warming that triggers higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, not the other way round.” Russian scientists reject global warming theories
. According to the American Physical society “currently-fashionable efforts by governments to reduce anthropogenic CO2 emissions are pointless, may be ill-conceived, and could even be harmful.”

The time has come for us to examine the scientific evidence, rather than accept the views of psuedo-science organisations like the IPCC or act on “fashionable” or “trendy” views!
